The Mathematical Oncology Laboratory (MOLAB) at the University of Castilla–La Mancha (UCLM) is inviting expressions of interest from outstanding and highly motivated candidates wishing to pursue a PhD in mathematical oncology.

We anticipate the opening of the next UCLM PhD Fellowship Programme in the near future. In addition, we expect new PhD fellowship opportunities funded by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) to be announced in the coming months, subject to the publication of the corresponding calls. Exceptional candidates with marks above 9/10 may qualify for highly competitive national fellowhips such as the FPU programme or La Caixa PhD grants.

Successful candidates will join an internationally recognized research group developing mechanistic mathematical models and digital twins to address clinically relevant problems in cancer research. Our current projects span brain tumors and brain metastases, immunotherapy, radiopharmaceutical therapies, cancer metabolism, and other translational applications, in close collaboration with leading hospitals and research centers in Spain and abroad.

We welcome candidates with background in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or related quantitative disciplines, together with a genuine interest in interdisciplinary biomedical research. 

MOLAB provides a highly international and collaborative research environment, with opportunities for interdisciplinary research, international collaborations, conference participation, and research stays at leading institutions worldwide. Our goal is to translate mathematical and computational advances into clinically meaningful improvements for cancer patients.
