On Tuesday, April 1, Thursday, April 3, and Friday, April 4, MOLAB researcher José García Otero will conduct a scientific outreach activity at IES Campo de Calatrava (Miguelturra), IES Maestre de Calatrava (Ciudad Real), and Colegio San José (Ciudad Real). During this session, students will discover the essential role of mathematics in cancer research, focusing on Celyvir, an innovative oncolytic virotherapy designed to treat neuroblastoma.
To facilitate understanding, mathematical methods will be explained through concepts students are already familiar with in the classroom, such as the derivative. This approach will help students grasp how mathematics can be used to study tumour progression and improve treatments.
Through this accessible and engaging approach, students will learn how mathematics can contribute to the fight against cancer.
With this initiative, MOLAB aims to spark curiosity about scientific research and highlight the impact of Spanish science in biomedical innovation.
