Abstract
The name `Mathematical Oncology' refers to the direct application of Mathematics to solve questions of relevance in Oncology. In this article we discuss how Applied Mathematics may play a role, even an important one, in the combined effort of all scientific and technical disciplines against this disease. We will discuss what are the problems for further progresses in the field and how to overcome them to unlock another potentially fruitful field of applications of mathematics thinking on the patient's benefits.
