Abstract
Field amplitude and intensity solutions of the Maxwell-Bloch equations for a laser have been theoretically analyzed. The frequencies appearing in the intensity and field spectrum for parameter values corresponding to a period-doubling road to chaos have been analyzed, both numerically and analytically. These frequencies can be expressed as rational linear combinations of two base frequencies. Differences between the roads affecting intensity and field variables have been evidenced.
