José García Otero (BSc in Mathematics, University of the Basque Country, 2019; MSc in Physics and Mathematics, University of Castilla-La Mancha, 2021; PhD in Physics and Mathematics, University of Castilla-La Mancha, 2025) conducts research in the mathematical modelling of paediatric cancer. His work focuses on Alocelyvir, an oncolytic virus–based therapy delivered through mesenchymal cells to enhance tumour selectivity and therapeutic effectiveness. He collaborates with the Niño Jesús Children’s Hospital in Madrid to optimise this approach, aiming to improve its clinical performance in paediatric patients.
