Doblaré Castellano, Manuel
Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain)
Mechanical engineering degree at the University of Sevilla and PhD at the Polytechnic University Madrid. After a short period in as lecturer in both universities, he got in 1984 the chair of Structural Mechanics at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zaragoza. Visiting scholar at the Universities of Southampton (Civil Eng. Dept.) and New York (Courant Inst. Math. Sc.) and visiting professor at Stanford University (Applied Mechanics Div.). Dr. Doblaré was head of Department, Dean of the School of Engineering, Director of the Aragón Institute of Engineering Research and Scientific Director of the Spanish Networking Center on Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine. From 2011 to 2016, when he moved back to his chair in Zaragoza, Prof. Doblaré was Scientific Director and CEO of Abengoa Research. He has published more than 220 papers in ISI journals (h-index: 38 WOS) and has supervised 37 PhD Theses and has received several prizes. He is elected fellow of EAMBES, member of the World Council of Biomechanics and permanent member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering. Dr. Doblaré’s research interests are in computational solid mechanics, multiscale and multiphysics problems with applications in Biomechanics and Mechanobiology, model reduction and the combination of machine learning techniques and physical models. |
