Biomarkers in lung cancer

Lung and bronchus cancer is responsible for the most deaths by a substantial margin. While late stage cancers are difficult to treat, early stage cancers may still have windows of opportunity to treat them with potentially curative intent. It is very interesting to have ways of assessing non-invasively the aggressiveness of lessions identified on TC and to adjust treatments accordingly.

Collaborators

We work on extracting biomarkers from lung cancer PET images in collaboration with the Hospitals of Albacete (Antonio Honguero), Ciudad Real (Germán Jiménez) and Toledo (Ana García). We also collaborate with large cancer screening programs through the Instituto Valenciano de Oncología (Estanislao Arana).
