Associate professor (1997) and full professor (2002) in Applied Mathematics at the Mathematics Department of the University of Castilla-La Mancha. Founding (2007-2012) and current (2016-) director of the Institute of Applied Mathematics in Science and Engineering at University of Castilla-La Mancha. Director of the department of mathematics (2005-2008, 2012-2016) of the same university. He has published more than 120 ISI-indexed research papers with 4400 citations and an H-index of 34. Currently working on the application of mathematical modeling to oncology.
